-Statement of Faith

We believe that the 66 books of the Bible containing the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God. Sacred writers were inspired by the Holy Spirit, and the original texts were thus without error, confirmed by the words of Christ and the apostles. The Bible, being the only divinely revealed authority, is our only rule of faith and conduct.

We believe that God is one and that He makes Himself known as a Trinity of three divine Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is holy, eternal, and almighty. We believe that He is the Creator of everything that exists and that the world has been created by His Word (Genesis 1 and 2).

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who exists eternally in the Trinity. We believe that He is the Word made flesh, that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, that He was born of the Virgin Mary, and that He was fully man, yet without sin – never ceasing to be God. He taught and did miracles, was condemned by the religious and civilian authorities, and was crucified to atone for our sins. He rose again bodily on the third day, was seen by more than 500 witnesses, ascended into heaven where He sits at the right hand of God and intercedes for us, and is the only mediator between God and men. We believe that He will come back in glory at the end of the age. (See article 9 of this Statement).

We believe that the divine Person of the Holy Spirit has been at work in the universe since its creation and was poured out at Pentecost (a unique historical day) after the ascension of Jesus Christ. He convicts of sin, regenerates the person who believes in Christ and comes to dwell in him or her (baptism of the Holy Spirit) and by so doing incorporates that person into the Church. His main purpose is to glorify the Son of God by investing the believers with the power necessary for effective service and a life of holiness.

We believe that Satan is a diabolical person, the adversary of God and man, whom he deceived in the Garden of Eden according to Genesis 3. He is the greatest tempter, liar, and murderer from the beginning. He is the prince of this world and was judged at the cross and will be cast into the eternal fire prepared for him and his angels.

We believe that the first man, Adam, was created perfect by God (in His image), who then created Eve, from the man, to be his helper and partner. Because of the disobedience of the first couple (narrated in Genesis 3), the whole human race fell into a state of sin and under the condemnation of eternal judgment from which it can’t redeem itself by its own efforts.

We believe in salvation by the grace of God alone. It is available to anyone who repents and trusts in Christ and His atoning sacrifice on the Cross. Romans 10:9-10

The Church is the Body of Christ who is its supreme Head. It is comprised of all the children of God, who, together, form the universal Church beyond all ecclesiastical and denominational barriers. Its mission is to evangelize the world and to glorify the Father and the Son.

We believe that the final destiny of all mankind is definitely determined in this life. We believe that every genuine Christian will receive a body like unto the risen body of Christ, which will enable him or her to live eternally in the presence of the Lord. We believe, according to Romans 2:6-8, in the perfect justice of God for all those who have not had a knowledge of the way of salvation.
