HOW we came to be

Jericho Road Ministries desires to make effective, strong disciples of Jesus Christ in Africa.

Our Lord’s commandment to GO AND MAKE DISCIPLES OF ALL NATIONS is at the very heart of our mission. Jericho Road Ministries, a non-profit based out of Longview, Texas, has been commissioned to take the Emmaus Evangelistic Discipleship process to the English-speaking African nation of Zambia. The Emmaus Bible Studies help people come to know Christ and develop as “Great Commission” Christians in a unique way.

During several mission trips to Africa in 2003, Eddie Napps noticed poverty, sickness, and death of the people of Zambia, yet he saw they had a tremendous openness to the Gospel! Virtually all that heard the Gospel made a decision for Christ! But while there is a great openness to the Gospel, there is also a great need for discipleship to help the people grow spiritually and become true disciples who will stand the test of time and trials.

Through God’s leading, Eddie Napps discovered a method for evangelism and discipleship training that utilizes Emmaus Bible correspondence courses. The current method of choice for distribution of these courses abroad is the Emmaus Bible Centers method (EBC). This method of distribution trains and empowers nationals to operate a Bible Center out their own home and reach out and evangelize and disciple their countrymen for Christ. Millions of Emmaus courses have been distributed throughout the world using the Emmaus Bible Centers method.

In mid-2004, after prayerful consideration, Eddie was appointed Zambia Emmaus National Director and was empowered to take the Emmaus Bible Centers method to Zambia, a country of 10 to 12 million.

Our MISSION

TO DEVELOP AND EQUIP DISCIPLES TO REACH THEIR NATION FOR CHRIST

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.” Matthew 28:19

EACH STUDENT HAS A MENTOR TO GUIDE THEM THROUGH THE COURSES.

• As students complete the courses, they are challenged to surrender their lives to Christ if they are not already Christians.
• They are taught foundational truths from God’s Word.
• They learn God’s principles for service, financial stewardship, family responsibilities, and many more.
• They learn principles of personal evangelism to prepare them to reach others for Christ.
• They graduate and are given access to evangelistic discipleship literature, so they can multiply the work that has been started in them.
• They are challenged to reach their nation for Christ!
