Jericho Road's Mission
To develop and equip disciples to reach their nation for Christ.
Jericho Road Ministries (JRM) is a non-profit organization with a calling to disciple believers in South Central Africa—particularly in Zambia and Malawi—through Bible training, mentorship, and leadership development.
In 2003, founder Eddie Napps traveled to Zambia and saw firsthand both the openness of the people to the Gospel and the desperate need for spiritual growth after conversion. Thousands were accepting Christ, but few had access to biblical teaching or discipleship training.
Through prayer and God’s direction, Eddie discovered the Emmaus Bible Correspondence Courses—a proven, Scripture-based system that equips believers to study God’s Word and apply it in daily life. These courses became the foundation for what is now Jericho Road Ministries.
In 2004, Eddie was appointed Zambia Emmaus National Director, tasked with taking the Emmaus Bible Center model across the country—training nationals to lead their own home-based Bible centers. The result has been thousands of new disciples growing in faith and reproducing that same training in others.
At the heart of JRM is a reproducible discipleship process:
- Evangelize – Introduce people to Christ through local outreach and personal testimony.
- Equip – Enroll new believers in the 12-course Emmaus Bible Study curriculum.
- Mentor – Pair each student with a mentor who walks with them through Scripture, prayer, and personal growth.
- Multiply – Graduates complete 13 courses, learning how to disciple others and lead their own groups.
This multiplication model ensures sustainable growth, where nationals are discipling nationals, and churches are built from within communities rather than from the outside.
JRM works hand in hand with dedicated African leaders such as Mulengwani Mweyama, our National Director in Zambia. We have a growing network of regional and provincial coordinators. Together they oversee Bible Center operations, organize graduations, distribute literature, and mentor new believers.
“Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.”
James 2:18
Our mission is both practical and spiritual. We print discipleship materials, distribute Bibles, support new churches, and train leaders—but at the core, we seek transformation of lives through God’s Word. Every course, Bible, and training event is part of a larger vision: to see believers in Africa stand firm, grow deep, and multiply the Gospel across their nations.
